At Jackson Ilyas Tax & Financial Solutions, our story began with a calling—not just to do taxes, but to serve.

It all started when my mosque saw a need and sent me to become a licensed tax professional. That simple act of trust opened the door to a much greater journey.

I began my career at a top tax resolution firm in Silicon Valley, working on complex tax cases like audits, back taxes, and IRS negotiations. Though I was based in Sacramento, I was so committed to learning the craft that I made the long commute to San Jose each day. Eventually, I sold nearly everything I owned and rented a small room in Stockton so I could split my time between two cities. 

While I was on the road chasing knowledge, my community was slipping into crisis. The mosque that first believed in me was in danger of being shut down—due to code violations, city disputes, and delays from design professionals. I knew I had to step in. I changed my schedule, adjusted my life, and took on the responsibility of helping navigate the city’s demands.

In the midst of it all, the owner of the firm where I worked gave me the push I needed. He told me:
“It’s time to start your own company. Be courageous. Have the balls. Win—for your family and your community. Be confident—you know what you’re doing. And if you ever need me, I’m here. I’m in your corner.”

Those words lit a fire in me.
